About Mer / Be.EV
Be.EV operates as a provider of rapid and ultra-rapid EV charging infrastructure across the UK, formed through the consolidation of Be.EV's existing northern and Midlands operations and the acquired Mer UK public charging network. The combined network incorporates modern technology enabling rapid power delivery, with strategic placement at high-traffic corridors and destination locations.
In February 2026, Be.EV completed the acquisition of Mer's UK public charging network, adding over 1,600 charging bays across more than 450 sites — primarily in the South of England, complementing Be.EV's established operations in the North and Midlands. The combined network now exceeds 2,500 bays at over 680 locations nationwide, placing it among the UK's top 10 networks for rapid and ultra-rapid public charging.
Mer's CEO Kristoffer Thoner described the deal as one that "supports Be.EV's growth while allowing Mer to sharpen our strategic focus on our core European markets." Existing Mer customers have been transitioned to the Be.EV network, with access to Be.EV's competitive 39p/kWh subscription tariff and 7pm-7am off-peak rates. Some chargers may still appear under the combined "Mer / Be.EV" branding while integration completes.
