Richard and Unboxed partnered with smaller suppliers to swiftly prototype the hardware, and within two years, char.gy installed its first product on a lamppost in Marlow, marking the beginning of a transformative journey to make EV charging accessible to all. All Char.gy charging stations are powered from 100% renewable energy from Octopus Energy, and the company has saved 19.6 million kg of CO2 since its inception, plus Char.gy has recently been crowned a B-Corp, showcasing its standards of social and environmental performance and accountability. In 2024, the company secured £100 million in private funding to accelerate rollout, positioning it for significant expansion across UK residential streets.
